PITCHING INSTRUCTIONS
We love this tent. We have used it twice now and it is hugely spacious as even though there are only two of us, we wanted space for a king sized inflatable mattress. Space for an inflatable sofa and indoor dining in poor weather and the dogs crate. It fulfills our needs perfectly.
We went for the double door as we plan to use in the south of France in the future and want to enable as much daytime ventilation as possible. On reflection, that probably wasn’t necessary. We camped in 30c UK heat this summer and found opening the canvas door at the front with all the side vents open kept air circulating. Even though we had now shade from trees, it never got stifling. Also, condensation is a non-issue unlike more modern style tents.
A couple of words of warning:
1. Double door is differently dimensioned from the single door version so is more rectangular. No rounded carpets are needed. Not will the normal Toscana inner bedroom fit the double door.
2. This thing weighs a ton. Even with a free trolley, I couldn’t lift the bag off the pallet without removing the tent pegs and poles out of the bag first. Once done, even a weakling like me can just about lift it into an SUV boot.
Finally, it does take a bit longer to dry out. We haven’t tested it in a storm but leaving site at 9am we still had a lot of dew on it and it took around 4 hours in the sun to fully dry it out afterwards when we were home.
All in all, we absolutely love it. It takes one person to set up but two who have a system can get it up in 20mins easily and probably a lot less.
Hi there, thank you so much for sharing your detailed experience with the Tucana Tent! We're delighted to hear it meets your needs so well and that you’re enjoying the spaciousness, ventilation, and ease of setup. Your tips on weight and drying are very helpful for future campers. We hope many more adventures await with your tent in France and beyond!
Good instructions, easy to erect, even for one person
Room inside is wonderful, and the two entrances make it very versatile.
Fantastic, spacious, super easy to put up!
Very pleased with my tent's first outing. Set up easily within 30 mins with minimal assistance, and was sturdy. The heavier canvas came into play many times with inclement weather being experienced throughout my camping trip in the form of low temperatures, high wind, and constant rain. With it raining all day after I had set it up, and the tent remained dry with no additional water proofing needed. It stood up very well to the 15 mph constant and 30 mph gust winds that were tearing through the camp site. And with the temps dropping to just above freezing, the space heater that we had lasted much longer due to the insulation provided.
However, due to the size of the tent and the weight of the canvas, this comes at the cost of increased weight overall, as this tent is quite heavy. Just be prepared with a cart or park close to your camp site to help negate this as much as possible.
Overall, while I've had much better weather camping before, it was made far more bearable than any other bad weather trip I've had previous, and would very much recommend this tent.
Brilliant tent, we bought the Tucana and are really happy with it. The space inside is fantastic, it feels much more roomy than the bell tents and we are very pleased with our purchase.

This tent is amazing! Super easy to set up and so far, durable. We've set it up and used it on 2 weekends already, both rainy. Stayed a decent temperature all night and no leaks. Very roomy, even with 1 queen bed and 2 twins. Another bonus, I'm 6 feet tall, there is more than enough head room!
Easy to set up. Looks absolutely beautiful! Love the double door design.
We absolutely love out Tucana and can’t wait to camp in it and make loads of memories! We chose the Tucana because it has all the fab features of a bell tent (you can float it, loads of space etc.), plus the benefit of the head height and porch with no guy rope right in the way. It’s just perfect!
I recently bought one of these £650 tents. On initial setup, the door crossbar poles were missing from the stated component checklist. These were required to hold the width of the door and provide much-needed stability. Looking in the manual the other poles provided were also clearly thinner than those shown in the manual and looked less durable, my initial reaction having been a tent owner for some time was “these are flimsy”, which was obviously disappointing. The picture also showed good quality pole feet which were also missing.
Customer service responded in relation to the missing poles: “This part is no longer included nor needed; we are in the process of updating our instructions”.
Great product... Had a 5m Bell tent and fancied something slightly different... Love it... Only criticism is weight of item... Only half a square metre difference from the Bell tent but much heavier.
Best tent ever! I went for the double door version and I bloody love it, really amazing space. It was easy to put up between two of us. There were some problems with the delivery company but customer services were superb and got it sorted. It’s the second tent from this company that I own and I’m so over the moon with it. ❤️
Absolutely brilliant tent. Pitching instructions could do with more detail.
Love this tent! Shared on a community Facebook page Last night and have received 1,700 likes and have shared your link 10+ times. I HIGHLY recommend this product. We are building a retreat center to open next summer and will be purchasing at least 2 more of your tents. Luna is next!!
Spacious tent, nice awning too for sitting out front. Easy to set up.
Love our Tucana! Great space, awning and height were what attracted us to this model and it doesn’t disappoint. Been using it to camp in the garden during lockdown but taking it on our first trip next week!
We haven't taken it camping yet but have put up in the garden to check it over. The tent is well made. Materials and finish are good. It is really easy to put up (but like all similar tents quite heavy). The only reason it did not get 5* on the service and description was an error in the online description (amended only after we asked how do you roll the sides? You can't!). They responded promptly admitting the error and even suggested it would be possible with pegs or self adhesive velcro 4* for thinking of a solution - 5* service would be to offer to send some out! There are a couple of design features that could be improved (eg the curved seam on the doors reduces head hight going in/out and a 2 straight zip door would have also been easier to use and given a sun shade if pegged out or tied to car/van roof rails and some hoops and toggle on the diagonal sections so you could roll up the window sections) but overall it looks a really good tent and had plenty of other features we wanted. It was not the cheapest but did offer good value against competition and we are very happy with the tent overall.
Very high quality tent that I can just see will last for years
No instructions but easy to put up. Actually much easier than I thought it would be.
Wonderful tent really comfortable.
Very pleased.
Great quality. Was about as hard to put up as I was expecting.
Arrived quickly, easy to set up, beautiful quality and huge! Much bigger than I expected and I can't wait now to get out camping in her. We are a family of 5 and it will more than meet our needs. Thanks boutiquecamping!
Very impressed by the quality. And very fast tot set up.
One minus;
They do not deliver important accesoires, like a fitting canopy and different models of inner tents. I have tot make it by my self...
Good product! High cost performance!
Great tent to hang out and sleep in. We use it as a drive away awning and it's nestles well against our LDV 400.
