Tell us about yourselves & San Juan Glamping, what inspired you to launch a glamping business and how have the initial plans developed into execution?
Christi, San Juan Glamping:
Well, we are a family of 5, living near the beautiful San Juan Mountains in Colorado, USA and we love having outdoor adventures! From canyoning, to hiking, camping and climbing, we have always loved the great outdoors! Our daughter Addalee(12) and I have also always loved throwing elaborate, fun birthday parties. We decided to combine these two interests after my cousin asked us to “glamp” an old hunting tent for her daughter’s wedding in June of 2021 and we so enjoyed giving the bride and groom that experience. Glamping is very popular in Colorado, however, there were no portable, personalized glamping companies on the Western side of our state. So after much research and with a couple thousand dollars, we started San Juan Glamping Co with a small bell tent we purchased, some blow up mattresses, rugs, decor, bedding, a website and a whole lot of excitement for the future.

What is it about the Luna Bell tent design that caught your eye?
Christi, San Juan Glamping:
The shape is so beautiful and unique! After our first purchase of a classic bell tent from another company, we researched our options for a larger tent and the Luna kept coming up. We wanted something unique and special and your Luna Bell truly is both!

What made you decide on returning for a Nova Air Dome tent?
Christi,San Juan Glamping:
We experienced the quality, portability and unique design of the Luna so we knew the Nova would follow suite. We love how the Nova has no center pole so there are more styling options. The air beams are SO unique and eye appealing. We’ve had great customer service from you all so we waited until we had the money to purchase it and here we are, already loving it and looking forward to making it available to customers next season.

Other than tents, have you found Boutique Camping useful for other items such as furnishing and accessories?
Christi,San Juan Glamping:
We haven’t. Honestly it’s the shipping cost to the US that impedes us from doing so. Also, many of our furnishings need to fold flat and be easily portable so we have been focusing primarily on items that fold flat to fit in our small trailer. We did win a gift card during your 10 year anniversary celebration, however, and with it purchased the two tier chandelier, which we have enjoyed offering our customers this year.

Do you use any online platforms to list, promote or manage your customer/client bookings?
Christi,San Juan Glamping:
We use Zenbusiness. They provide a website that links to our email for quotes/inquiries. We rely on local networking, Facebook and Instagram to promote our offerings. We are hoping to launch a YouTube channel within the next year as a means to connect with and inform customers of our offerings and provide behind the scenes footage of the realities of a glamping business.

From experience, how have you found the performance and pitching process of your tents throughout the different seasons and climates?
Christi,San Juan Glamping:
"The quality of the tents and ease of pitching has been outstanding. We appreciate the directions you all provide and as with anything, the pitching has become easier the more we do it. We have had the Luna up in pretty high winds and rain and had no issues. After accepting a job last December where our stakes froze in the ground and we spent several hours digging them out, we have decided our outdoor season will be from April-October so we haven’t used it frequently in the late Fall or Winter seasons."

Being U.S. based, how have you found trading with a UK business?
Christi,San Juan Glamping:
"Excellent. We are so thankful to have found your company! Your delivery times are reasonable coming from afar and your customer service is top notch. We are so very pleased and plan to continue to purchase more inventory as we grow our company in the US."
